Import your data. Full control, fully automated, fully smart.

Easily import a spreadsheet — CSV, TSV, XLSX, XLS, ODS, XLSM or JSON — a PDF catalogue, a document in DOCX, ODT, DOC, RTF, Pages, WPS or FODT, or the URL of a page listing your works, up to 25 MB per file. WrkLst reads the columns and proposes a mapping for you to confirm. Every record then appears in a review table, in your language, and is saved only once you approve it — giving you full control over what enters your archive.

With AI, the import does the data entry for you: it reads the works out of PDFs and spreadsheets. Like all AI in WrkLst, it is optional and switchable.

Your contacts

Import your contacts, too

Easily import your contacts from a spreadsheet or directly from your phone. WrkLst reads every entry and shows you the complete list before anything is created, so you can search it and select only the people you want to bring into your address book.

Contacts already in WrkLst are recognised and skipped. Where an imported card holds a detail missing from the existing contact — a second phone number or an email address — WrkLst can add just that, leaving the existing information untouched.

Where your data can come from

Whatever the source, you review the mapping and every record before anything is written to your archive.
A spreadsheet
Import CSV, TSV, XLSX, XLS, ODS, XLSM or JSON files. WrkLst reads the column headers and proposes a mapping for you to confirm before any row is written.
A PDF catalogue
Import a catalogue, price list or condition report as PDF, or as a document in DOCX, ODT, DOC, RTF, Pages, WPS or FODT — read into records you review before they are saved.
FileMaker or another database
Export your database as a spreadsheet and import it directly. For more complex exports, send it to us — our team has extensive experience migrating data from a wide range of inventory and database software, even from services with limited export functionality.

A migration is more than works and contacts. We take over exhibitions, sales, consignments, provenance, locations, prices, documents and images as well — with their links intact, so a sale still points to its work, its collector and its invoice.

Whatever you run today — Artlogic, Artwork Archive, ARTBUTLER, FileMaker, a bespoke database or a folder of spreadsheets: you send what it exports, we build the migration, and you review the result in your account before it goes live. We have been moving artworld data since 2008, including out of systems with limited export options.

Full data export

Full data export, on demand.

We firmly believe that the data you enter into WrkLst belongs to you. That’s why, in addition to everyday exports like spreadsheets, PDFs, and Word documents, your entire WrkLst database can be downloaded as one complete file (SQL dump) whenever you like. This file is a full copy of your data in a standard format any database specialist can open.

With this approach, we ensure you have full data freedom — should you ever choose to transition to another software, all your information can be fully extracted and migrated to any system via a custom migration path. Even your document templates are Word files you can download from Settings.
